TULSA, Oklahoma (Ticker) -- Jason Parker scored 25 points to lead 22nd-ranked Tulsa to a 78-65 victory over Texas Christian.
Parker shot 8-of-14 from the field, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range, as the Golden Hurricane (7-1) extended their winning streak to three games.
Tulsa was erratic at times but led throughout after opening the game with an 8-0 run. The Golden Hurricane saw their lead cut to 68-63 with three minutes left but closed with a 10-2 burst.
"At times, I thought we played very well, and then at times I thought we were going on Christmas break as soon as the game was over," Tulsa coach John Phillips said. "Sometimes these games are very difficult to play. It isn't an excuse for the players, but they sit around thinking about the opportunity to go home."
Tulsa's next game is Saturday against Iowa. Its only loss this season was a 62-46 setback to No. 19 Kansas on December 11.
Dante Swanson added 11 points for the Golden Hurricane and also was proficient from long range, hitting three 3-pointers.
Jamal Brown scored 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting to lead the Horned Frogs (4-5), who have lost three in a row.
"I'm proud of our effort," TCU coach Neil Dougherty said. "Effort-wise, we played our best game and still lost. We have to continue to work hard and get better."
The Horned Frogs have lost seven of the last eight meetings with Tulsa.
