COLUMBIA, Missouri (Ticker) -- Rickey Paulding scored nine of his 21 points in the first four minutes of the second half to help lift No. 25 Missouri to a 73-70 Big 12 Conference victory over Colorado.
Paulding hit a jump shot with 16:24 left to cap an 11-2 run and put Missouri ahead, 48-37. The Tigers (13-4, 4-2 Big 12) never trailed after the surge, although the Buffaloes got close at the end.
Colorado (12-7, 2-4) edged within 71-70 with 7.2 seconds to go as a 3-pointer by Michel Morandais capped an 11-2 run. Freshman Jimmy McKinney hit a pair of free throws for Missouri at the other end and Morandais missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
The Buffaloes led by as many as eight points in the first half and lost despite holding the Tigers to 37 percent (13-of-35) shooting in the second half.
Morandais led the Buffaloes with 18 points and Blair Wilson added 16. David Harrison, who was involved in a fight in Colorado's loss earlier this week at Texas Tech, managed eight points on 2-of-8 shooting to go with seven rebounds. Colorado led throughout the first half, but Ricky Clemons hit a shot from halfcourt to give Missouri a 37-35 advantage at intermission. Clemons paced the Tigers with 23 points.
Clemons shot 7-of-20 from the field, including 5-of-11 from 3-point range. As a team, Colorado shot 4-of-11 from beyond the arc.
Clemons and Paulding combined for 10 of Missouri's 16 assists to Colorado's eight.
Arthur Johnson added 10 points and five rebounds for the Tigers, while Travon Bryant added eight points and 10 rebounds.
The Buffaloes suffered their fourth consecutive road loss and have not won here since 1997.
Missouri extended its home winning streak to 10 games and has won its last eight games against Colorado.
