TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) -- Jennifer Markwood scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as Toledo beat Kent 65-50 Monday night in the Mid-American Conference tournament championship.
Leslie Favre and Kristen Tews each scored 11 and Kim Knuth added 10 points for the Rockets (25-5), who have won four of the last five MAC titles.
Dawn Zerman and Julie Suder each scored 11 and Carrie Nance finished with 10 points for Kent (22-7), which beat Toledo in last year's championship game.
Knuth, who became the all-time leading scorer in MAC women's basketball Sunday when she scored 35 points in a semifinal win over Akron, needed 11 points Monday to pass MAC men's leader Bonzi Wells of Ball State, who set the record of 2,485 last season.
Knuth will get another shot at the record in the opening round of the NCAA tournament, which the Rockets automatically qualified for as MAC champions.
Toledo outrebounded Kent 36-24 and shot 56 percent from the floor (15-for-27) in the first half while pulling ahead to a 35-24 halftime lead. The Rockets cooled off a little in the second half, going 12-for-29 (41 percent).
