MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) -- Linda Weyler had 21 points and 12 rebounds Saturday to lead Montana to a 66-53 victory over defending champion Cal State Northridge in the title game of the Big Sky Conference tournament. Montana (22-7), coming off its first losing season in coach Robin Selvig's 22 years, advances to the NCAA tournament for the 14th time. Northridge (18-10) trailed 23-21 at halftime before opening the second half with a 10-0 run to take a 31-23 lead on a layup by Daphne Verrept with 17:15 remaining. Montana answered with a 3-pointer by Simarron Schildt, two free throws by Megan Harrington, a basket by Julie Deming and a free throw by Weyler to tie the score at 31-all. The score was tied for the last time at 41-41 on a jumper by Deming midway through the second half. Northridge led 47-45 after a free throw by RaShawnda Richardson when Montana went on a 9-0 run, punctuated by a Weyler putback, that made it 54-47 with 2:48 left. The Lady Griz made 10 of 12 foul shots in the closing 1:01, including 5-of-6 by Weyler, who finished with an 11-of-16 effort from the free throw line and was named the tournament's MVP. Lauren Cooper had 15 rebounds to lead Montana to a 48-39 advantage on the boards. Neda Milic led Northridge with 12 points.
