DETROIT (AP) -- Chandra Johnson had 24 points and 10 rebounds and Trisha Ebel scored 19 points as Wisconsin-Green Bay beat Cleveland State 79-72 Saturday night to win the Midwestern Collegiate Conference championship game.

The Phoenix (21-8) made 29 of 33 free throws to help overcome 36.4 percent field goal shooting. The Vikings (15-15) shot 43.9 percent, but made only 12 of 20 free throws and committed 19 turnovers.

Cleveland State led 38-32 at the half and extended the lead to 43-32 early in the second half. But the Phoenix used a 25-6 run to take control. Johnson started the run by making six straight free throws and Ebel hit four 3-pointers during the rally.

The Vikings never got any closer than three points and the Phoenix hit 7 of 8 free throws in the final 2:03.

Melanie Tilque added 12 points for Green Bay. Mahogany Green led Cleveland State with 27 points and Juli Grant scored 12.
