ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- Could there be another Wilkins playing basketball at the University of Georgia?

Damien Wilkins, dismissed from the N.C. State basketball team last week, visited the Athens campus Monday with his father, Gerald, the Durham (N.C.) Herald-Sun reported.

Damien's uncle, former Atlanta Hawks star Dominique, played his college ball at Georgia.

Damien Wilkins pulled his name out of consideration for the NBA draft last week but was not allowed back by Wolfpack coach Herb Sendek. It's believed he's also considering a transfer to Illinois.

Georgia has an open scholarship. Coach Jim Harrick pursued Penn State transfer Jon Crispin, who eventually decided to sign with UCLA.

Illinois doesn't have a scholarship available at the moment. Junior college recruit Blandon Ferguson has not qualified for admission, but until a scholarship becomes available, the school can't offer one.
