Rouse in the house for ECU
By Dave Telep, BlueChipHoops.com Bill Herrion landed his first recruit of the year, and itıs a good one. Corey Rouse, a 6-7, 185-pound small forward from Kinston, N.C., committed to the Pirates on Monday. Rouse played last summer with the Wilson Kings at the AAU Nationals. "He's an athletic wing and he's going to get bigger and stronger," George Stackhouse, head coach at Kinston said. "He handles the ball well and he's getting more consistent with his outside shot. He should be able to go in and play right away. If he gets to 215 or 220 he can be really something." Last year, Corey was the MVP of the Eastern Regional playoffs for Kinston. "I think Corey is going to be one of the guys who lead us in scoring and rebounding," Stackhouse said. "Against [Eric] Hicks at Dudley, he had 18 points and 11 rebounds. When he gets more consistent from deeper he's got a lot of plusses." You can expect Rouse to blossom into a major contributor at East Carolina, possibly at both the forward positions.
