LaRue was named ACC Rookie of the Year, was a second-team all-ACC choice and was named to the ACC All-Tournament second team.

LaRue is the just the second freshman in school history to lead the Cavaliers in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage, matching Cathy Grimes, who lead Virginia in those categories as a freshman in 1982
