LUBBOCK, Texas (Ticker) -- Grace Daley scored 30 points, including four in the final minute, lifting sixth-seeded Tulane to a 65-60 victory over 11th seed Vermont in the first round of the Midwest Region.

The Green Wave tied a school record for most victories in one season, set during the 1996-97 campaign, and will face either Tennessee Tech or Texas Tech in the second round on Monday.

Daley's layup and foul shot with 58.1 seconds left put Tulane ahead, 62-60, with one minute left. She nailed 1-of-2 free throws with 28 seconds to play, stretching the lead to three.

After Vermont freshman Morgan Hall missed a 3-pointer, Taryn Turnbull hit a pair of free throws for Tulane with seven seconds remaining to ice the victory.

Sarah Goree added 15 points for Tulane (27-4) and 6-5 junior center Janell Burse grabbed nine rebounds to win the first meeting between these schools.

Senior forward Karalyn Church led Vermont (25-6) with 26 points and 14 rebounds, but no other player had more than seven points. Church is the Catamounts' all-time leading scorer with 2,285 points.

Vermont is winless in four NCAA Tournament appearances.

Daley, a 5-8 senior guard, averaged 21.3 points this season and was easily named the Conference USA Player of the Year. She averaged 22.0 points to help the Green Wave blitz through the conference tournament.
