Notre Dame defeats 68-66 Purdue for title
It took her more than eight minutes to make her first field goal, but national player of the year Ruth Riley finished with 28 points, including two free throws in the final seconds, as Notre Dame defeated Purdue 68-66 for the national championship. Purdue had a chance to tie the game in the final five seconds, but senior All-America Katie Douglas' jumper bounced off the rim.
