NEW YORK (AP) -- The TV ratings for Connecticut's victory over Tennessee in the women's NCAA championship game were down 14 percent from last season.

The Huskies' 73-68 victory Tuesday night on ESPN received a 3.49 rating, equaling a little more than 3 million households. Connecticut's win over Oklahoma in the title game last season received a 4.06 rating, the most viewed college basketball game, men's or women's, in the network's history.

Despite the downturn, the UConn-Tennessee game was the fourth-most viewed college basketball game for the network.

Overall, the three-game Final Four drew a 2.99 rating, up 8 percent from last season. Ratings this season for the men's and women's tournaments have been affected by the war in Iraq. Also this year, the women's final was moved from Sunday to Tuesday.

The rating is the percentage of all homes with TVs, whether or not they are in use.
