Svetlana Abrosimova is a point guard trapped inside a post player's body. At 6-foot-2, Abrosimova possesses a unique mix of size and speed that helps trigger the Huskies fast-break attacking offense.
She has a knack for scoring in the clutch, even though her average dipped to 13.4 points last after she averaged 16.6 as a sophomore and 14.5 as a freshman. Despite the scoring slip, her assists were up and her turnovers were down.
Not only does Abrosimova's rebounding help get UConn out on the break, she likes to run the floor herself. Her quickness helps her score and defend on the blocks, and her height gives her an advantage out on the perimeter.
