Tasha Pointer will sport a new look this year, but the Scarlet Knights are hoping she can lead them to similar results as last season.
Pointer must wear protective goggles this year after being shot in the left eye by a boy with a BB gun over the summer. For a while it was uncertain if Pointer would ever see again, let alone play basketball again.
Eventually, her vision returned, the BB was removed and Pointer returned to the court. Pointer doesn't score a lot, but she is a savvy floor general and has a knack for generating offense by getting her teammates involved.
So with a renewed perspective, Pointer and a veteran Rutgers squad are looking to make it back to the Final Four.
