Southwest Missouri State's Jackie Stiles entered the 2000-2001 season needing 792 points to break the NCAA Division I career scoring record of 3,122 points held by Patricia Hoskins of Mississippi Valley. The 5-foot-8 senior guard from Claflin, Kansas broke that record on March 1 against Creighton and broke the single season scoring record on March 24 against Duke.
