After numerous misspellings and mispronunications, Nolan legally changed the spelling of her name from "Deana" to "Deanna" in the offseason. The Lady Bulldogs hope that's all that has changed about the teammate they call Tweety.
The whole basketball world may be calling her Tweety by the end of the season, if she dunks in a game. She missed one against Ole Miss as a sophomore, but still has coach Andy Landers' permission to attempt a dunk if the victory is secure.
A partial qualifier as a freshman, Nolan fit right in to Georgia's up-tempo style of play when she joined the squad as a sophomore. And her athleticism has changed the Georgia fast break from a Miller duo to a trio.
Nolan's biggest contribution may be on the defensive end of the floor. With her height and quickness she is often asked to guard the best players in the game -- like All-America selections Svetlana Abrosimova of Connecticut and former Alabama star Dominique Canty.
