CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- The last time these teams met, fifth-seeded Clemson defeated 12th-seeded Xavier in the first round of the 1993 NCAA Tournament. Now the Lady Muskateers are the higher seed and will try and get revenge in a second-round Mideast Region matchup.

Jennifer Phillips scored 20 points, including 12 at the free-throw line, as Xavier coasted to an 80-52 rout of Louisville in its opener.

Phillips, the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year, made just four field goals but took advantage of constant fouling by the Cardinals.

Nicole Levandusky made five 3-pointers on her way to 18 points while Amy Waugh added 11 off the bench for Xavier (29-2), which has won a school-record 19 straight games but has never made it past the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Clemson slipped past No. 12 Chattanooga, 51-49, in the first round when Nuria Forns made two free throws with one second left.

Forns finished with 16 points and Erin Batth added 11 and 14 rebounds for Clemson, which prevailed despite 34.5 percent (20-of-58) shooting.

The winner will travel to Birmingham to take on top seed Tennessee or No. 9 St. Mary's.
