RENO, Nevada (Ticker) -- Stacy Clinesmith scored 36 points as eighth-ranked Santa Barbara streaked to its fourth straight Big West Conference tournament championship with a 79-69 victory over Long Beach State. Clinesmith drilled seven 3-pointers and was 10-of-17 from the field for the Gauchos (30-3), who stretched the nation's longest current winning streak to 26 games. Kristi Rohr added 11 points and eight rebounds and Jess Hansen came off the bench to score 10 points for Santa Barbara, which made 11 3-pointers but shot just 37.5 percent overall (24-of-64). Kesha Wade collected 16 points and nine rebounds and Rhonda Smith netted 15 points before fouling out for Long Beach State (20-10), which shot less than 38 percent (23-of-61) and committed 24 turnovers. The 49ers attempted nine 3-pointers, making only two.
