EAST LANSING, Michigan (Ticker) -- Rachel Byars scored 21 points and grabbbed 11 rebounds as No. 22 Boston College raced to a big lead and coasted to an 80-64 victory over Tenneessee Tech on the first round of the Chevrolet MSU Classic. An NCAA Tournament team last season, the Eagles got off to a good start by shooting 52 percent (25-of-52) in the first half and opened a comfortable 48-28 advantage. Nicole Conway added 16 points, Alicia Shields 15 and Janelle McManus 12 for Boston College (1-0), which will play host Michigan State in Saturday's championship game. Boston College shot 48 percent (25-of-52) and made 11-of-24 3-pointers. Janet Holt scored 17 points and Crystal Andrews 10 for Tennessee Tech (0-1), which shot 37 percent (21-of-57) and committed 20 turnovers.
