KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Gwen Jackson scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds and Semeka Randall added 16 points as No. 2 Tennessee rolled to a 94-52 victory over DePaul in the season opener for both teams.
The Lady Vols (1-0), who reached the NCAA title game last season, outrebounded the Blue Demons 51-23 and overpowered them with a 56-20 advantage in inside scoring.
Tamika Catchings had 14 points and 10 rebounds and freshman Ashley Robinson and LaToya Davis added 11 points apiece.
Lenae Williams scored 22 points for DePaul (0-1). Molly Watson added 11 and Jamie Smith 10 but no other Blue Devils player had more than three.
The Lady Vols led the whole way but did not open a double-digit lead until Randall's 17-footer with 2:37 left in the first half made it 37-26.
In the second half, Tennessee turned up the defense, harrassing DePaul into 16 percent shooting (3-of-19) from the field.
