AMES, Iowa (Ticker) -- Megan Taylor and freshman Erica Junod scored 18 points apiece, leading 11th ranked Iowa State to an 84-46 romp over Eastern Illinois.
Sophomore Tracy Gahan grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked two shots and five different players dished out four assists apiece for the Cyclones (1-0), who outrebounded the Panthers, 43-24.
Pam O'Connor scored 14 points, the only player to hit double figures for Eastern Illinois (1-2). O'Connor hit 6-of-12 from the field, but her teammates shot just 26 percent (11-of-42).
Taylor scored 13 points in the first half, helping the Cyclones race out to a 43-18 advantage. O'Connor scored eight of her team's points before the break.
Erica Haugen and Angie Welle scored nine points apiece for Iowa State, which was seventh in the nation in scoring with 79.9 points per game and 10th in scoring margin at 16.4.
