CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Nicole Levandusky had 19 points, nine rebounds and four steals and Taru Tuukkanen scored 17 points, leading 20th-ranked Xavier to an 88-34 thrashing of Chicago State.
Kate Kreager added 12 points and 11 rebounds, Reetta Piipari contributed 11 points and 13 assists, and Jennifer Phillips finished with 10 points and five assists for Xavier (4-0).
The Cougars were still within 25-15 midway throught the first half, but managed just two points over the final 10 minutes of the period. The Lady Musketeers poured it on, building a 44-17 lead at the break.
Xavier, which was 17th in the nation in scoring last season at 77.5 points per game and third in shooting percentage at 49.9 percent, won going away. The Lady Musketeers shot 56 percent (15-of-27) in the second half while holding the Cougars to 24 percent (6-of-25).
Krisey Sanders led Chicago State (1-5) with 18 points and five steals.
The Lady Musketeers outrebounded the Cougars 52-32 and forced 25 turnovers as they reached a season high in points and won by their largest margin of the year.
