KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Gwen Jackson scored 18 points to pace seven players in double figures as second-ranked Tennessee remained unbeaten with a 98-60 rout of intrastate rival Memphis.
Tamika Catchings added 14 points and Ashley Robinson, Semeka Randall, Michelle Snow and LaToya Davis all had 10 apiece for the Lady Vols, who have won their first eight games of the season. Seven of those wins have been by double digits.
The Lady Vols left little doubt about their latest victory, opening a 27-10 lead less than eight minutes in the contest. They shot 63 percent (19-of-30) in the first half and led 50-35 at intermission.
Tennessee shot 54 percent (34-of-63) overall and forced the Lady Tigers (6-3) into 27 turnovers.
Malissa Bush scored 15 points and Partice Boyd 13 for Memphis, which shot 40 percent (21-of-53) and was outrebounded, 40-30.
