AMES, Iowa (Ticker) -- Angie Welle led a balanced attack with 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting as seventh-ranked Iowa State remained unbeaten with an 87-60 triumph over San Francisco. Lindsey Wilson added 16 points and Tracy Gahan had 14 for the Cyclones, whose 8-0 start is their best since opening the 1995-96 season with 12 wins. Iowa State's starters shot 66 percent (27-of-41) from the field, outscoring San Francisco's quintet, 68-50. The Cyclones also had a 42-34 rebounding advantage and held the Lady Dons (3-4) to 32 percent shooting (24-of-75). Megan Taylor chipped in 11 points and seven rebounds for Iowa State, which broke open the game with a 28-4 run to start the second half. Kim Whisler had 20 points and eight rebounds to lead San Francisco, which got 10 points and seven boards from Melanie Turner but suffered its third straight loss.
