KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Michelle Snow scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds off the bench as second-ranked Tennessee closed with a 12-0 run to post a 63-58 triumph over No. 22 Stanford.
Stanford led 58-51 following two free throws by Susan King with 5:33 to play. But April McDivitt made two free throws 20 seconds later to ignite the game-ending run. Kristen Clement had a free throw and Tamika Catchings a 16-footer before a free throw by Snow sliced the deficit to 58-57 with 3:27 remaining.
Catchings found Snow for a layup 56 seconds later to put Tennessee on top and Ashley Robinson hit a free throw with 2:04 to play. Snow pushed the lead to 61-58 with a free throw before Catchings sealed the win with two foul shots with two seconds to go.
Catchings, who made just 4-of-14 shots from the field, finished with 11 points, 12 rebounds and three steals. The Lady Vols (9-0) won despite shooting 32 percent (19-of-59) from the field.
Stanford (5-2) shot just 35 percent (20-of-57) and committed 19 turnovers. King led the Cardinal with 21 points but the other four starters combined to make just 9-of-29 shots, including 2-of-11 from 3-point range.
Stanford led 31-24 with 1:45 left in the first half after a 20-footer by Nicole Powell.
