CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia (Ticker) -- Telisha Quarles scored 22 points and Schuye LaRue added 13 as 23rd-ranked Virginia cruised to a 73-46 win over intrastate rival Liberty. Quarles hit 9-of-14 shots from the floor, including 4-of-7 from behind the arc, where Virginia (8-3) shot 53 percent (9-of-17). Anna Crosswhite had 10 points off the bench as the Cavaliers' reserves outscored Liberty's, 26-12. Irene Sloof and Michele Sloof each scored 11 points for Liberty (2-7), which shot just 32 percent and lost its fifth straight game. The Lady Flames committed 31 turnovers, leading to 38 points for Virginia. The Cavaliers shot 39 percent (26-of-67) and have won all four meetings with Liberty. The schools had not faced each other since the 1988-89 season.
