DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Alana Beard scored 27 points to lead three players in double figures as fifth-ranked Duke pulled away in the second half to hand No. 6 Iowa State its first loss of the season, 81-63. Georgia Schweitzer added 17 points and Iciss Tillis 16 as Duke (12-1) recorded its third straight win since a 93-75 setback to Atlantic Coast Conference rival Clemson on December 9. The Blue Devils had a 34-32 halftime lead but shot 67 percent (21-of-31) the rest of the way. They also outrebounded the Cyclones, 37-24. Angie Wells scored 15 points, Megan Taylor added 14 and Erica Junod had 12 for Iowa State (9-1), which was outscored in the second half, 47-31. Lindsey Wilson chipped in 10 points, but the Cyclones fell to 2-1 on the road this season.
