MANHATTAN, Kansas (Ticker) -- Angie Welle totaled 18 points and 15 rebounds as seventh-ranked Iowa State humbled Kansas State, 84-58, in the Big 12 Conference opener for both schools. Welle led six players in double figures as Iowa State (10-1, 1-0 Big 12) rebounded from Saturday's 81-63 loss to fifth-ranked Duke while snapping Kansas State's eight-game winning streak. Erica Junod scored six of her 12 points off the bench during a 9-0 run that gave the Cyclones a 34-21 lead with 4:05 left in the first half. They led by at least 10 points thereafter. Lindsey Wilson scored 14 points and Erica Haugen and Tracy Gahan added 13 apiece for Iowa State, which hit 11-of-22 shots from 3-point range. Kansas State was just 4-of-21 from behind the arc. Andrea Armstrong scored 16 points and Nicole Ohlde added 10 for the Wildcats (10-2, 0-1), who shot just 31 percent (18-of-58) and fell to 5-1 on their home floor.
