BLOOMINGTON, Indiana (Ticker) -- Freshman Shalicia Hurns scored a career-high 19 points off the bench as sixth-ranked Purdue held on for a 67-59 Big Ten Conference victory over intrastate rival Indiana.

Hurns made 8-of-9 shots from the field, grabbed eight rebounds and keyed a first-half run that put the Boilermakers (13-4, 4-0 Big Ten) in control.

Katie Douglas added 13 points and Camille Cooper had 10 and 10 rebounds for Purdue, which extended its winning streak to a season-high six games.

Hurns had five points during a 14-3 burst that gave the Boilermakers a 17-7 lead with 11 1/2 minutes left in the first half. They took a 37-21 cushion into intermission and led by as many as 22 points early in the second half.

But Indiana chipped away and got within 56-52 on a pair of free throws by Anna Waugh with 4:24 to play.

Hurns made a pair of baskets in the final three minutes, when Purdue was a shaky 3-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Heather Cassady scored 11 points and Tara Jones had 10 for the Hoosiers (12-3, 3-1), who had a three-game winning streak snapped. They have lost the last six meetings with the Boilermakers, including three in a row at home.
