TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (Ticker) -- Kara Lawson scored 17 points to lead six players in double figures as third-ranked Tennessee avoided a letdown with a 97-75 victory over Alabama in a Southeastern Conference matchup.
Coming off a rousing victory over second-ranked Connecticut on Thursday, the Lady Vols built a 41-30 advantage at halftime and were not threatened over the final 20 minutes, when they shot 57 percent (17-of-30).
Tasha Butts added 16 points and Gwen Jackson and Kyra Elzy had 11 apiece for Tennessee (23-1, 9-0 SEC), which won its 12th straight game while remaining unbeaten in conference play.
Semeka Randall and Ashley Robinson also scored in double figures for Tennessee with 10 points apiece.
LaNisha Cartwell netted 19 points and Beth Vice 14 for the Crimson Tide (16-6, 4-5), who shot 40 percent (25-of-63) and committed 20 turnovers.
