DURHAM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Brooke Wyckoff had 20 points, eight rebounds and five steals and Florida State made its free throws down the stretch to upset No. 4 Duke, 71-69, in an Atlantic Coast Conference matchup.
Florida State (14-8, 6-5 ACC) made just 16-of-27 attempts from the line in the contest but secured its victory with six free throws down the stretch. Levys Torres made 5-of-7 shots, scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Seminoles, who entered the game with the conference's second worst 3-point shooting squad but made 7-of-13 shots from beyond the arc Thursday.
Florida State led 38-33 after 20 minutes but Duke (21-2, 9-2) opened the second half with a 13-0 run. The Seminoles chipped away and sealed their victory from the line. A 3-pointer by Duke's Georgia Schweitzer at the buzzer proved anticlimatic.
Alana Beard, in her first game since dislocating her thumb on January 18, had 19 points. Schweitzer scored 17 and Sheana Mosch added 14.
The Blue Devils made just 3-of-12 3-point attempts and 14-of-21 free throws. Duke also was outrebounded 43-35.
The loss snapped the Blue Devils' 12-game winning streak.
