IOWA CITY, Iowa (Ticker) -- Lindsey Meder scored 29 points on 10-of-14 shooting as Iowa stunned fifth-ranked Purdue, 96-87, in a Big Ten Conference matchup.
Meder sank 5-of-7 3-pointers, helping Iowa (13-8, 8-3 Big Ten) shoot 61 percent (11-of-18) from beyond the arc. Overall, the Hawkeyes shot 56 percent (30-of-54) from the field.
Mary Berdo scored 23 points off the bench and also drilled five 3-pointers for Iowa. Randi Peterson contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Cara Consuerga handed out 10 assists.
The Hawkeyes posted their fifth straight victory and avenged a 73-58 loss at Purdue on January 4. Meder scored 20 points in the first half as Iowa stormed to a 52-36 halftime lead.
Purdue (21-4, 11-1) suffered its first conference loss and had a 13-game winning streak snapped.
Katie Douglas scored 21 points off the bench for the Boilermakers, while Cooper Camille added 19, making all nine of her shots.
Purdue rallied in the second half, closing to 77-72 on a short jumper by Douglas with 5:52 to play. But Peterson scored six points in a 9-4 spurt that gave Iowa an 86-76 lead with 3:22 to play.
