BRONX, New York (Ticker) -- Jennifer Phillips scored 14 of her 24 points in the first half, when 15th-ranked Xavier shot 73 percent from the field before coasting to a 92-73 Atlantic 10 Conference victory over Fordham. Phillips was 5-of-6 from the field in the decisive first half and finished 10-of-11. Xavier made 19-of-26 shots over the opening 20 minutes and took a 48-25 lead into the break. The Musketeers (21-2, 11-1 A-10) started the second half with a 14-0 run and never looked back. All five starters scored in double figures for Xavier. Taru Tuukkanen added 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting, Jennifer Parr scored 13 and Nicole Levandusky added 12. Reetta Piipari chipped in 10 points, 13 assists, two rebounds and two steals. The Musketeers ended up shooting 67 percent (35-of-52), the third-best percentage in conference history. Freshman Lauren Fleischer scored a career-high 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Fordham (5-18, 2-10), which has lost nine of its last 10 games. Erika Slayton added 13 points off the bench and Mobolaji Akiode had 11 for the Rams, who shot nearly 48 percent (33-of-69) but attempted just two free throws, making one.
