SPRINGFIELD, Missouri (Ticker) -- Jackie Stiles and 16th-ranked Southwest Missouri State rolled into the Missouri Valley Conference tournament with a season-ending 87-63 rout of Drake.
Two days after becoming the leading scorer in NCAA Division I women's basketball history, Stiles poured in 35 points for the Bears (22-5, 16-2 MVC), who shared the MVC regular-season crown with Drake. Southwest Missouri State settled for the second seed in the conference tournament.
Stiles was 12-of-21 from the field, made 3-of-6 3-point attempts and was 8-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Tara Mitchum added 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting and Carly Deer chipped in 10 points, 13 rebounds, six steals and four assists for the Bears, who have won three straight and seven of their last eight games.
Maureen Head and Stephanie Schmitz scored 13 points apiece for Drake (21-5, 16-2), which shot under 36 percent (20-of-56) and had a 14-game winning streak snaped.
