KANSAS CITY, Missouri (Ticker) -- Tracy Gahan scored 20 points and 10th-ranked Iowa State used a smothering defense in the second half to rout Baylor, 73-48, and advance to the semifinals of the Big 12 Conference tournament.
Lindsey Wilson added 18 points and Angie Welle had 10 and 14 rebounds for Iowa State (23-5), which will face No. 12 Texas Tech on Thursday.
The Cyclones were tied, 30-30, at halftime but limited Baylor (21-8) to 27 percent shooting (8-of-30) in the second half and just one field goal over the final 13 minutes.
Both teams committed 22 turnovers, but Iowa State held a 43-33 rebounding advantage and outscored the Bears at the line, 18-2. The Cyclones avenged a 79-74 loss to Baylor on January 24.
Danielle Crockrom scored 14 points and Sheila Lambert added 12, nine rebounds and seven assists for Baylor, which had a three-game winning streak stopped.
