PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Tammy Sutton-Brown scored 13 of her 25 points during a huge first-half run as fourth-seeded Rutgers pounded Stpehen F. Austin, 80-43, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament's West Region.

Sutton-Brown provided a spark off the bench for Rutgers (23-7), accounting for nearly half of the team's points during a 27-5 run that closed the first half and gave the Lady Knights a 37-12 cushion.

Karlita Washington scored 19 points and Tasha Pointer added 12 and 18 assists for Rutgers, a Final Four participant a year ago which will host Southwest Missouri State in the second round. The Lady Knights are 13-0 on their home court.

Rutgers' swarming defense limited the Ladyjacks to five field goals and 20 percent shooting in the first half. Stephen F. Austin finished at 31 percent (16-of-52) and committed 22 turnovers.

Linda Miles also had 12 points for Rutgers, which shot 58 percent (33-of-57), going 5-of-9 from 3-point range.

Latisha Prater had 10 points to lead the Ladyjacks, who were making their 14th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
