NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Julian Danker scored 25 points as third-seeded Vanderbilt cruised to an 83-57 victory over Idaho State in an NCAA Tournament Mideast Region first-round game.

Danker was nearly unstoppable from outside, making 7-of-10 3-pointers for the Commodores, who are making their 14th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Vanderbilt upset Tennessee in the semifinals of the Southeastern Conference tournament but lost to Georgia in the championship game on Kelly Miller's last-second shot.

Chanelle Sutton scored 18 points and Zuzana Klimesova added 17 for the Commodores, who will take on Colorado in Monday's second round.

Vanderbilt blitzed Idaho State (25-5) by shooting 63 percent (29-of-46) from the field, including 9-of-16 from 3-point range.

Chris Urbanski scored 20 points and Sarah Nelson contributed 11 for Idaho State, which was making its first NCAA Tournament appearance. The Bengals went 15-0 in the Big Sky Conference, then won the postseason tournament.
