RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Carisse Moody scored 22 points and Tynesha Lewis added 21 as host North Carolina State posted a 68-64 victory over Villanova in an NCAA Tournament East Region second-round game.

Moody and Lewis combined to shoot 14-of-24 from the field for the fourth-seeded Wolfpack (22-10), who will take on Connecticut or Colorado in the regional semifinals on Saturday in Pittsburgh.

North Carolina State hosted a sub-regional for the first time since 1998, when it advanced to the Final Four. The Wolfpack are making their seventh straight NCAA Tournament appearance and 16th overall.

Moody and Lewis combined for nearly two-thirds of North Carolina State's points as no other player scored more than seven for the Wolfpack.

Courtney Mix had 15 points off the bench and Trish Juhline added 13 for Villanova (22-9), which beat La Salle in the first round for its first NCAA Tournament victory since 1986.

North Carolina State trailed, 28-27, at halftime but used a 14-4 spurt to open a 50-39 lead on two free throws by Lewis with 9:26 remaining.

The Wildcats closed to 67-64 on Juhline's layup with 10.5 seconds left. But Lewis made 1-of-2 foul shots before any more time ticked off the clock to clinch the victory.
