STORRS, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Swin Cash had 18 points and 11 rebounds as top-seeded Connecticut cruised to an 89-44 victory over Colorado State in an NCAA Tournament East Region second-round game at Gampel Pavilion.

Without injured All-Americans Svetlana Abrosimova and Shea Ralph, the defending national champions advanced to the "Sweet 16" for the eighth straight year and will face North Carolina State in the regional semifinals on Saturday in Pittsburgh.

Connecticut (30-2) won its two tournament games at home by an average of 58 points. On Saturday, the Huskies crushed Long Island, 101-29, in the most lopsided win in the 20-year history of the NCAA's women's tournament.

Connecticut opened a 44-26 halftime lead, then held Colorado State (25-7) to 18 points in the second half.

Asjha Jones and Sue Bird added 16 points apiece for the Huskies, who limited the Rams to 28 percent (13-of-47) shooting from the field and converted 24 turnovers into 31 points.

Connecticut dominated inside, outscoring the Rams, 38-16, in the paint and outrebounding them, 53-27. The Huskies have held 11 of their last 13 opponents below 55 points.

Lisa Narkiewicz was the only player in double figures for Colorado State with 14 points.
