HEMPSTEAD, New York (Ticker) -- Hamchetou Maiga and Monique Coker scored 18 points apiece as 21st-ranked Old Dominion extended its Colonial Athletic Association winning streak to 22 games with 90-57 rout over Hofstra. Maiga and Coker combined to make 15-of-22 shots from the field as the Lady Monarchs turned in a dominant offensive performance, shooting 66 percent (36-of-55) overall. Old Dominion (20-5, 16-0 CAA) outscored Hofstra, 56-20 in the paint and 26-0 on the fast break. The Lady Monarchs also scored 28 points off 19 turnovers by the Pride. Lucienne Berthieu scored 14 points and Okeisha added 10 off the bench to help Old Dominion coach Wendy Larry record her 350th career victory. The Lady Monarchs have won 135 of their last 136 conference games and have a 190-7 all-time record in CAA play. Jessica Olszewski and Jen Brickey scored 11 points apiece for Hofstra (8-17, 5-11), which shot only 37 percent (18-of-49) and was outrebounded, 39-22. |
