CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Valerie King had 26 points and led five players in double figures as No. 23 Cincinnati never trailed en route to an 85-71 triumph over Conference USA rival Louisville. King shot 7-of-14 from the field, including 5-of-10 from the arc, for Cincinnati (23-4, 11-3 C-USA). Laura Wilder added 13 points, and Brittani Young and K.B. Sharp chipped in 12 points apiece. After Louisville reserve Sabrina Minter tied the game at 13 on a pair of free throws with 12:27 left in the first half, Wilder converted a three-point play to give the Bearcats the lead for good. Cincinnati led, 43-33, at halftime and by as many as 71-49 on a pair of free throws by Young with 8:07 left. Sara Nord paced Louisville (16-11, 8-6) with 16 points. LaKisha Hoffman and Amanda Wolke added 13 points apiece. Cincinnati outscored Louisville from the arc, 27-12, and the line, 30-13. |
