PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Okiesha Howard scored 18 points as 21st-ranked Old Dominion cruised to a 90-57 win over Drexel in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup and gave coach Wendy Larry her 400th career victory. The Lady Monarchs (21-5, 17-0 CAA) shot 66 percent (19-of-29) from the field in the opening 20 minutes to take a commanding 43-20 lead at halftime. Lucienne Berthieu added 17 points and Monique Coker chipped in 16 for Old Dominion, which led by as many as 37 en route to its 136th win in its last 137 conference games. Synia Williams had 15 points and nine rebounds for the Dragons (12-14, 5-12), who lost their fifth straight game. Drexel struggled throughout the contest, shooting 27 percent (6-of-22) from the floor in the first half and 30 percent (18-of-61) for the game. Michelle Masolowski, Drexel's leading scorer, missed all six of her shots as the forward was held scoreless. |
