PISCATAWAY, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Jessalyn Deveny posted career highs with 20 points and 10 rebounds as 19th-ranked Boston College posted a 67-48 victory over Syracuse in a Big East Conference tournament semifinal matchup.

The Orangewomen, who were the seventh seed, had won four straight games and upset 21st-ranked Notre Dame on Sunday. But they had little chance against the Eagles after an abysmal first half.

Syracuse had a 13-11 lead with 10:35 remaining in the first half but was outscored, 29-4, over the next 9 1/2 minutes. Deveny nailed a pair of 3-pointers to highlight the surge for the Eagles, who took a 30-17 edge into the locker room.

Boston College shot only 38 percent (11-of-29) in the first half, but Syracuse made just 4-of-22 shots from the floor, including 1-of-9 from 3-point range.

The Eagles scored 15 of the first 19 points in the second half and the Orangewomen got no closer than 18 thereafter. Syracuse went more than 12 minutes with a basket as Boston College bridged the halves with a 34-8 run.

Care Droesch scored 12 points and Amber Jacobs added 10 for the Eagles. Rachel Byars collected six points, eight assists and 10 rebounds.

Jamie James scored 15 points and Shannon Perry added 11 and eight rebounds for the Orangewomen, who shot just 24 percent (12-of-50) but made 20-of-30 free throws.

Boston College faces top-seeded Connecticut in Tuesday's conference final.
