NCAA Women's Tournament Recap (Penn St-Louisiana Tech)

RUSTON, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Amanda Wilson scored 16 points to lead top seed Louisiana Tech to its 20th straight win, a 79-62 second-round triumph over seed Penn State in the West Region of the NCAA Women's Tournament.

Louisiana Tech (28-2) has won 20 straight home contests and is 12-0 all-time in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Lady Techsters advance to the regional semifinals for the seventh straight season and will play either Notre Dame or LSU on Saturday in Los Angeles.

LaQuan Stallworth and Tamicha Jackson scored 15 points apiece, leading the Lady Techsters to their sixth win in eight all-time meetings against the Lady Lions. Monica Maxwell added 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Louisiana Tech led 33-30 at halftime and overpowered Penn State in the second half thanks to 49 percent (16-of-33) shooting. The Lady Lions shot 43 percent (12-of-28) in the second half and 37 percent (23-of-63) overall.

Andrea Garner scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds as Penn State (22-8) fell to 5-7 in second-round games. Shawnta Vanzant netted 15 points and Lisa Shepherd added 14.
