NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Recap (LSU-Louisiana Tech)

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Amanda Wilson scored 27 points to lead top-seeded Louisiana Tech to a 73-52 victory over intrastate rival Louisiana State in the West Region semifinal of the NCAA Women's Tournament.

The Lady Techsters (28-2) won their 21st straight game, advancing to their 13th regional final. They will meet UCLA on Monday.

LSU (22-7) led 15-8 with 13:18 left in the first half before Louisiana Tech went on a 16-2 run to take a 24-17 lead with 6:30 left. Betty Lennox keyed the spurt with nine of her 19 points.

The Lady Tigers closed to 24-22 with 4:17 remaining on a layup by Marie Ferdinand. But Louisiana Tech closed the half with a 15-3 spurt and took a 39-25 lead into the break.

LSU never got the defecit below 10 points in the second half. Louisiana State committed 21 turnovers to just eight for Louisiana Tech.

Ferdinand paced LSU with 16 points and Detrina White added 15.
