1983 The Celtics suffered through about as lackluster a 56-26
regular season as a team could, then needed to overcome the
infamous Tree Rollins-biting-Danny Ainge incident in the
deciding Game 3 of their first-round series against
Atlanta. Bird wasn't
worried: "The bottom line is we're still the Celtics. Ask
L.A. and Philadelphia who they fear, and I'll bet they say
us." Unfortunately, the Milwaukee Bucks were Boston's
next opponent, and the Bucks swept the Celtics out of the
playoffs. |
