SHOOTING Bird may be the best shooter—especially in the clutch—of all time, though Jerry West fans might disagree. Uncanny long-range marksmanship is what sets Bird apart from other greats, such as Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan. He loved to try game-winning shots, and he hit his fair share. His career shooting percentage was 49.6 (37.6% three-pointers, 88.6% free throws).
