Very disappointing season in '99 because of major injuries to Jayson Williams, Sam Cassell and Rony Seikaly. Coach Calipari was fired after 20 games (3-17)
Don Casey replaced Calipari. Nets went a respectable 13-17 under the new coach
Williams severely broke leg on April 1 finished the year averaging 8.1 ppg and 12.0 rpg
Jamie Feick stepped in for Williams and averaged 6.8 ppg and 11.0 rpg with Nets. He averaged 12.6 rpg as a starter (that number would have ranked 2nd in NBA)
The Nets' 91.4 ppg was fifth in the conference
