Matt Santangelo

Allsport
Position: Point Guard
College: Gonzaga
Conference: West Coast
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 173
Age: 22
Birthdate: 09/08/77
High School: Central Catholic, Portland, Ore.

John Stockton finished his career as Gonzaga's all-time leader in scoring and assists then went on to a Hall of Fame NBA career. Can Santangelo do the same? Half that battle is already won. As a senior, Santangelo supplanted Stockton as the Zags' all-time leader in points and assists, despite enduring a season-long shooting slump. He passed for 225, but shot a mere (for him) 37 percent from the field and 33 percent from 3-point range. Some doubt that his quickness and athleticism are good enough for the NBA, but he'll probably get his shot and be drafted in the second round.
