Mark Dickel

Allsport
Position: Point Guard
College: UNLV
Conference: Mountain West
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 175
Age: 23
Birthdate: 12/21/76
High School: Logan Park, Dunedin, New Zealand

The pros will have to look to Dickel after he led the nation in assists (280, 9 per game) as a senior. Dickel, a native of New Zealand, is an instinctive passer who knows how to feed the post and drive and dish. He also doesn't beat himself or his team often; he turned the ball over just 80 times this season. That's an assist-to-turnover ratio of better than 3:1. Dickel is tough and has great speed in the open court, traits the pros love. He also put in a lot of offseason work on his jumper and wound up shooting a respectable 37 percent from 3-point range. Dickel had a good end to his season, leading the Runnin' Rebels to the Mountain West Conference Tournament title and an NCAA bid. He was MWC tournament MVP and a second-team All-MWC pick.
