Dye got a chance to showcase his skills at the NBA's Portsmouth, Va., tryout camp, where he led his team to the championship game. He put together a fine career at Bradley, finishing fourth on the school's all-time list in 3-pointers (182) and steals (195). That showed he could play on either side of the ball. In his senior season, Dye averaged 16.6 points and 2 steals despite nursing a sore ankle most of the year. His numbers against the eight NCAA tournament teams the Braves played this season were even better: 19 points, 3.1 assists and 2 steals.
